Four members of the Koncept Events team, including partners Angie Nelson & Hillary Smith, CMP, CSEP packed up the truck and drove 8 hours to Tallahassee for the second year in a row to help Hilton Luxury Brands thank their biggest local customers with an appreciation event. Focusing on the family, our team worked closely with the Hilton planners to procure high impact yet cost effective activities that would not only tie into the “down home” feel of the event but also showcase creativity and be fun for all ages. Pony rides, old-fashioned kettle korn, s’more station, dream catcher craft, home-made ice cream, wagon rides, strolling teenage fiddlers, line-dancing, texas hold ‘em tournament and horse shoe pits were a some of the highlights. Decor focused around Southern hospitality using long communal tables accented with yellow gingham runners, sunflowers in pots and real iron water pumps from the early 1900′s were used as vases for wild flowers!

The client asked for “the best Irish fiddler and dancers available… so that is exactly what we gave them” says Sarah Turk, Program Manager onsite for the exclusive event held at The W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The performance which mixed modern Riverdance-like beats with traditional Irish folk songs was choreographed by James Kelly in conjunction with Karl Drake, the teacher of the featured Irish Dancers. “You could hear the sound of the hard soled shoes in the prefunction space and the guests were all clapping along with the beat. It was hugely impactful and incredible to watch the skilled footwork of these talented dancers.” Turk recalls. All of the dancers performing that night qualified to compete in the 2010 World Championships being held in Glasgow, Scottland in April. Good luck to you from all of us at KE!
